WHAT: ‘Ēid-ul-Adhā.
Muslims Major Event on Monday, September 12, 2016
By a decree from ISNA and Fiqh Council of North America, and approval by the Chairman of ISGH's Ulema Committee, Dr. Salah Alsawy, EID-UL-ADHA will be on Monday September 12, 2016.
The Islamic society of Greater Houston (ISGH) wishes EID-UL-ADHA to the Houston Community and Muslims all over the world.
All ISGH's Islamic Centers (Masajid and Musalla) will be open for prayers.
On this day Muslims worldwide will once again commemorate Prophet Abraham’s exemplary demonstration of exclusive devotion to the Creator of the universe. No earthly challenge or barrier could have prevented him from walking in the Guidance of his Lord.
This Father of piety, prophet Ibrahim, peace and blessings upon him, has left posterity with the invaluable lesson that, in the pursuit of righteousness, no sacrifice is too costly. And it is this particular lesson that Muslims solemnly ponder on ‘Ēid-ul-Adhā.
On this Abrahamic religious occasion Muslims rededicate themselves to the spirit of sacrifice for the promotion of all that is beneficial to human life on earth. They also offer the rituals of animal sacrifice and special prayers, and engage in festive activities meant to secure and strengthen mutual bonds of goodness.
Congratulations to all Hajjis performing the pilgrimage this year. We wish them safe travels and happy returns.
Eid Mubarak!
