By a decree from ISNA Fiqh Council, and approval of ISGH's Ulama Committee, Eid Al-Adha will be onMonday September 12, 2016.
The Islamic society of Greater Houston (ISGH) wishes Eid Al-Adha to the Houston Community and Muslims all over the world.
All ISGH's Islamic Centers and Musallah will be open for prayers.
On this day Muslims worldwide will once again commemorate Prophet Abraham’s exemplary demonstration of exclusive devotion to the Creator of the universe. No earthly challenge or barrier could have prevented him from walking in the Guidance of his Lord.
This Father of piety, Prophet Ibrahim, peace and blessings upon him, has left posterity with the invaluable lesson that, in the pursuit of righteousness, no sacrifice is too costly. And it is this particular lesson that Muslims solemnly ponder on Eid Al-Adha.
On this Abrahamic religious occasion Muslims rededicate themselves to the spirit of sacrifice for the promotion of all that is beneficial to human life on earth. They also offer the rituals of animal sacrifice and special prayers, and engage in festive activities meant to secure and strengthen mutual bonds of goodness.
Congratulations to all those performing the pilgrimage this year. We wish them safe travels and happy returns.
Eid Mubarak!
